Gordon Brothers, Davidson Kempner launch $1.5bn JV

In the US, Global advisory and restructuring firm Gordon Brothers has entered a $1.5bn joint venture with Davidson Kempner Capital Management to expand its commercial equipment finance capabilities. Backed by a lender finance facility from Wells Fargo Capital Finance. The partnership complements Gordon Brothers’ existing structured equipment finance operations and broadens its mid-ticket offerings for corporates, independent lessors and bank-owned finance groups.

PEAC Solutions buys ABN AMRO’s UK leasing arm

PEAC Solutions, a global asset finance tech platform, has acquired ABN AMRO’s UK leasing business for an undisclosed sum, strengthening its European expansion and UK market reach. Operating in 14 countries with a lease portfolio exceeding $6bn, PEAC already supports over 23,000 UK businesses from SMEs to large corporates. Integrating ABN AMRO’s complementary portfolio enhances service continuity and broadens tailored asset-based financing across various key sectors.

Shawbrook to acquire ThinCats

UK-based Shawbrook Group has agreed to acquire ThinCats Group, a specialist lender to growth-focused SMEs, for an undisclosed sum. The deal, expected to complete later this year, adds a projected loan book of £0.7bn ($0.94bn) and £0.6bn risk-weighted assets. ThinCats will retain its brand within Shawbrook, whose SME segment already represents 21% of its loan book, accelerating growth in bespoke funding for clients.

CSI Leasing acquires majority stake in Aeroservicios USA

Independent equipment leasing firm CSI Leasing has acquired a majority stake in Aeroservicios USA, a Miami-based specialist in ground support equipment (GSE) refurbishing and sales. The move expands CSI’s capabilities in pre-owned GSE, adding refurbishing and remarketing of its off-lease assets. Aeroservicios supplies new and used GSE and will continue under CEO Gabriel Serrano.
